We have all heard the old standard ‘Do not judge a book by it’s cover’ more than we could ever imagine trying to keep count of I am sure, and we all know that the adage is true for much more than just books. It is especially true for other peoples relationships. It is easy to look at a relationship from the outside and think you know what is what, but the reality of the matter is that unless you are a party in the relationship itself, you really have no idea what goes on behind those closed doors. How many interviews with friends and neighbors of serial killers all start out with ‘they were so nice, and polite, I never would have guessed’?
Another case of judging at first glance is this super cute Brivan Cabin from The Green Door. From the outside, it is the poster child for rustic country living but once you step inside, the clean lines and open floor plan leave the decor options open to just about anything. It works just as beautifully with modern style furniture as it does more traditionally rustic, or mix and match to suit your own style preferences.

Two of the most vital tools in any healthy relationship are sacrifice and compromise. There are many other important parts as well, but today we are going to talk about these two.
Sacrifice : an act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else regarded as more important or worthy.
Compromise : an agreement or a settlement of a dispute that is reached by each side making concessions.
During the course of a long term relationship, there will be times where both are not just needed, but required. While it is always best to try and compromise, to find a solution that both sides can agree with, not all situations have a middle ground. That is when one side must sacrifice for the sake of the greater good.
Our relationships with Troy, have all involved a bit of both over the past nearly 5 years, and will involve greater sacrifices in future for us to have the life together that we both want. Since Troy is in the UK and we are in the USA, there is no way to compromise on a middle ground, because we can not live in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, so one of us is going to have to sacrifice our current country in order to be together.
The important thing to consider with sacrifice, is that in a healthy relationship both sides make them equally. The same goes for compromises, both sides have to give as much as they take, for the scales to balance out.

When we are setting up a scene, we will often times ask Troy ” this look okay to you ? “. While we will always consider his answers biased, we also value them because we know they are honest. We still have difficulty accepting that our photos are anything special, tho we are getting better at accepting that others think so. We do have our moments of being blown away by our own work at times, but it is far rarer than some may think. We have a few friends who also blog, who’s work makes us drool, who think they are nothing special but drool on ours ! So is the way of the world.

The buildings, stairs, pathways and patios from the Noveny – Resort Cabin Pack have modern lines yet rustic organic vibes. They blend in so beautifully with the surrounding landscape, and make the entire scene flow together. The addition of the Noveny Outdoor Hot Tub and Fire Pit was seamless, fitting perfectly in both texture and size.

While setting up this picture, I popped to You-Tube to find me some theme music to be inspired by, and man oh man did I find the perfect playlist. Guitarist Justin Johnson blew me away with the Swamp Water bluesy sounds that just brought this scene to life for me. It was just one of those nights, Troy had to work and I was all dressed in my Lilleth Mills – Cursed outfit but I needed a date for the Halloween party. We joke that having been in SL for almost 15 years, there is little we have not tried at least once. One of the things on the ‘Never Have I Ever’ list is farming. We have done a wide variety of breedables, but never a farming system. So when The Funny Farm offered to send us a beta starter set to blog as part of I Pink I Can, we were hesitant at first since it is not something we are familiar with, but decided to give it a go as a new experience.
First impressions upon unpacking was that it looked fairly simple, at least until I tried to birth my calf. There was a minor labor and delivery complication which required a new set of bovines due to a scripting upgrade to the cows. Once that was sorted, proud parents Fred and Serena welcomed a happy healthy baby Noah to our parcel ! We happened to have been watching the latest Handmaids Tale the day of his birth so it seemed only appropriate that they be named as such. So, once he was born, we had to milk Serena and got a partial bottle of milk to feed Noah, easy peasy !
Now there is hay to grow, but, in order to grow the hay you have to fertilize the soil which in case you are unaware of what fertilizer is made of, it requires poo ! Once a day the Bull will provide a Funny Plop of poo to put into your compost bin, then the next day the poo becomes fertilizer. Gross and yet realistic at the same time, minus the smell, thank god !
So once you plant your seeds, you water and tend your little garden patch. All of the actions involve animations which are well made and adorable. They are made in 3 sizes to suit large Adults, Adults and Children size Avi’s. There is a water trough and hay feeder to keep your adult cows fed and hydrated, plus a cistern for water storage.
There is also a badge system, which we have not played with, but from the developers notes I can tell you
” They are a fun thing to do for our Funny Farmers while they wait for new {TFF} items to come out. Badges are not required but our Funny Farmers are earning some exclusive {TFF} items such as collectibles, decorated harvestables etc while completing their badges.
Badges include all kinds of activities like wearing costumes, building items, photography, holiday and celebration days, recipe suggestions, and as more items become available they will expand to crafting and cooking. Our Funny Farmers are invited to join a Realm if they want to earn badges. Each Realm is lead by a couple of our farmers who have completed badges themselves. Each Realm has a different feel but all offer help with badges, farming and give a sense of community.
Once badges are earned by a Funny Farmer they are displayed in shadow boxes of various designs, a nice addition to any farmer’s barn wall! “
Now if you are just starting out in a little back parcel farm, this adorable Garden Shed and picket fence system from The Green Door are just right to get you going until you realize you need 40 acres for all of your fields and cows ! The Crush pose from Be My Mannequin for the Mens Closet event, starting on October 26th ,has Troy trying to figure out what I am reading in this manual.

There is something about darkness that is both terrifying and captivating. Vampires, for example, are traditionally meant to be frightening and terrifying creatures, and yet, they are also romanticized in the very next breath. Like moths to flames, we are drawn to those things that our rational minds know we should flee from.
Something you should not flee from is this months round of Unik which runs until the 28th so you still have lots of time to grab up the darkness, and the light !

There is nothing worse than having to stand around in the graveyard waiting for your summoned zombie to rise from the grave. They can be worse than waiting on a woman to get dressed.
It is a good thing I had something fabulous to wear while waiting. ViO has made this adorable Witches Outfit for I Pink I Can and it comes with the dress, boots, hat and a broom !
Also from I Pink I Can is this Scary Tombstone from SE7EN. There are spooky spiders running around and the Skelly fades in and out. There is optional spooky sounds as well.
