As we are getting ready to make the transition from living in the US to living in the UK, it really starts to settle in just how many changes are about to come upon us. One of those changes, is going from calling it a yard, to a garden.
This is one of those differences where words mean different things. Here in the US, it is quite common to have a garden in your yard. A section of the yard that is used for growing flowers, herbs or produce. In the UK however, the entire thing is called the garden. So will we now have a garden in the garden ? Considering the language is called English, you would think they would have figured their version would be the one that actually made sense, and yet, it does not !
