In our family, Troy is the one who actually enjoys cooking. We enjoy cooking, on rare occasions. We cook so we can eat said food, not because we enjoy the cooking. Especially in the summer when it is hot, if it can not be cooked in the air fryer or microwave, it likely is not getting cooked till fall !

We all know about skinny dipping, so we feel that if the removal of clothing is done on a stripper pole, similar to the Breeze – Dance Pole by Dictatorshop, it should be called stripper dipping instead. Tis all about clarification.

We often hear the term ‘Simpler Times’, when referring to the past. We are not entirely sure just how much simpler those times really were. It seems like things were a lot more ‘Same Shit, Different Day’.
We have COVID, they had the Bubonic plague and Spanish Flu. We have Religious conflicts, they had the Crusades. Everyone has had their shares of famine, and taxes have fucked with everyone since the dawn of time . So the shit, really just changes names and locations, but it is still shit.
Today we would like to draw your attention to the handsome Medieval Carriage by Del-Ka Aedilis for We Love Roleplay. The carriage is available with several options to suit your roleplay needs. We know the lyrics may say Rocky Mountain Hiiiighhhhhhh Colorado, but todays scene needed an adjustment. The new little mancave from DRD at ALPHA Event, certainly covers the Smoky part with its stash of bud, lighter and a nice little bong as well as many other goodies. The Reece set from LouChara shares the High duties, with its airplane theme, and the Old Bill jeep from 777 gets us up that Mountain with ease. So goodbye Colorado and hello Tennessee and North Carolina.

There is just something about cyber scenes that make our little android heart happy. Perhaps it is our love for Star Trek, particularly The Next Generation. In a younger lifetime, we were so addicted that we played a great deal of ST:TNG the card game. We are currently binging Doctor Who with Troy, to share his love of the UK phenomenon. Once that is done, we shall share our love of TNG with him.

They always say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but it has never been one of our favorite meals, and was skipped more often than any other. While we love having traditional breakfast foods for brunch, lunch, dinner or even desert in the case of waffles, we have just never been fans of eating just after waking.

It is not often that we miss a day of blog post, and today was almost one of them. This week has been quite hectic in RL, and the heat has been atrocious. Our thermometer at the house read a high of 105 here today which for the 1st of June is nearly unheard of. Tomorrow is supposed to be yet another scorcher before the rain moves in and the temps drop back down to the 70’s and we can not wait !

One of our favorite memories is learning to swim. Our aunt and uncle would take us to the lake and we would ride on our uncles back out to the big kids dock so we could jump in and he would catch us then hold us up while we doggy paddled back to the dock, until that time he didn’t.
What we had not realized on that final day, was that he had not had to hold us up at all while we swam back. Deciding it was time to let us know we were doing it on our own, when we jumped off the dock into the water, thinking he would be right there when we came up like always, only he wasn’t there ! He had gone back to the dock and was calling to us to swim to him.
At 4 years old, of course we panicked and splashed like our life depended on it, because to us, it did ! Now mind you, the distance between where we jumped and where he was was about 10 feet, if that. This was the late 70’s and we had no floaties or tubes, to us, it was swim or die time, and swim we did. Crying and near out of our mind we swam to where he was and were immediately picked up and sat on the deck.
we sat and then stomped around the deck screaming and calling him the meanest uncle ever. We told him how much we hated him and were never going to the lake ever ever again. He was laughing at us, and trying to tell us that we had been swimming on our own all day, we just never realized it. So he told the other kids it was time to go home, since we were so upset, and they all jumped off the dock and started swimming to shore, leaving us standing there in horror.
Our uncle swam about 10 feet away, telling us to get a move on or we were going to get left behind out on the dock and get very cold. We started crying once again, but we jumped in, and we swam ! We were about halfway back to shore, with our uncle always just a few feet ahead of us, but seemed like miles away to a four year old, when it clicked in our little brain, that we really were doing it ourselves. We were amazed and excited, we were so thrilled that we started laughing, and turned back around to swim back to the dock !
Laughing and following, calling to the other kids that they could come back in too, everyone went back to the dock, and continued to jump, splash and swim for several more hours. It was the 70’s, we swam or we died. We drank out of the hose, we rode in the back of open truck beds, we lived, or we died. Life was different then, and we grew up stronger for it, in some ways. There are other memories that do not have the same fondness, but those are not for this blog.
For today, happy swimming !

As many times as we read Goodnight Moon to our real life son when he was small, we were quite surprised his firsts words did not involve the words to the story. For just over 75 years, the book has been putting babies and toddlers to sleep night after night. It’s a great book, not only because it is simple and the kids enjoy it, but because it is super short, and yet, still a whole book. So it quickly becomes the last book of the night, when there are cries for ” Just one moooorreeeeee “.
