While setting up this picture, I popped to You-Tube to find me some theme music to be inspired by, and man oh man did I find the perfect playlist. Guitarist Justin Johnson blew me away with the Swamp Water bluesy sounds that just brought this scene to life for me. Recently we had a conversation with one of our SL sisters about decorating for the holidays, and we had to chuckle about how we have no patience for decorating in RL, but love doing it in SL. When it comes to holiday decor we have an attention span of about 2 weeks, unfortunately commercialism thinks it needs to shove every holiday down your throat 3 months before it gets here, so by the time the holiday actually comes around, you have zero desire to put it up, only to have to take it all back down again in 2 weeks.
Thankfully in SL, decorating and redecorating is as easy as a click of the mouse, and an inventory search for keywords, or if you have a Kait, just find the appropriately named holiday folder in your #Seasonal Decor folder.
I was so excited to see the Kendrick Cabin from The Green Door for TLC. You can pick it up yourself at TLC from October 18th – November 10th. The Kendrick Cabin is a cozy wood cabin with one bedroom, a kitchen/dining area, living area and bathroom. Features the home control system for security and texture change. Only 80 LI, copy/mod.
The cabin makes the perfect rural home for this InkMe Deads and Ghosts set which you can pick up at Halloweentown. The set comes with gravestones, floating ghosts, hanging skeletons, covered bodies, a giant skull and jack-o-lanterns. While you are over at Halloweentown, be sure and check out all of the other spooky holiday items, as well as seasonal fall items too.

We have all heard the ever popular phrase ‘Sex Sells’, and for better or worse, it is a quite accurate statement. Over the years, I have found that ‘Pink Sells’ is also just as accurate. By my totally unprofessional and non-scientific calculations, ‘Pink Sex Sells Best’ is probably the ultimate in marketing practices !
While today’s post has nothing to do with sex, it does have to do with pink ! I myself, am not the type of girl that gravitates towards pink, in our system, that would be Kait or Bekkah, but it does not dissuade me from being able to enjoy the color from the perspective of someone that does like it.
For me, the Luanne Bedroom Set from Bee Designs, is not one that I would choose for my personal bedroom, but it is one that Bekkah thinks is absolutely wonderful ! Tho she feels the lack of fairies is disheartening, but she has more than enough of those to add her own !
While I have not added fairies, I did add some neon angel wings and daisy flower wall decor from the Isabella Bedroom Set, also from Bee Designs, to help fill out the decor.

In recent posts I have mentioned how the end of summer is upon us, and autumn is getting ready to take over. While this is true for those of us in the northern hemisphere, the southern half of the planet is just now sliding into summer. The beauty of Second Life is that you can live your best beach life all year long if you wish to!

How many of us have drooled over the home & decor blogger photos of a room that is decked out so spectacularly, it should be in a Showhouse Magazine ? I do it damn near on the daily !
I admit to not being too shabby when it comes to some decorating. I can make a room look great, but, I tend to lean towards the less is more approach in my personal decorating choices. While I may love the look of a fully decked out living space, my brain has a bit of a tweak-fest when it comes down to it. I do not like lag, none of us do I know. I may tolerate it at a Live Music or shopping event, I refuse to have it at home, in any way shape or form. This is why, as it has been stated before, we live in a skydome, with no house, no landscaping, 1 chair and 2 cats. Personal living choices do not stop me from loving putting together a look tho.

For the past several years, we have been a part of the RFL team Camping For A Cure. It is one of the things we are the most proud of doing in second life. With two large events each year, Freedom Rock in the spring, and I Pink I Can in the fall. This year the fall event will happen October 15th – October 30th.
“Why do you fight? ”
This is a question that is asked numerous times throughout the season. Our reason was made even more powerful recently when our step mother made the choice, to stop fighting. She was told that her breast cancer was back, for the 4th time, and had spread. We fight so that no more mothers, or in our case, no more step mothers, or sisters or cousins or aunts, have to make the choice, to stop fighting, so they can find a way to enjoy the life they have left, on their terms. She made the choice for quality of live, over a complicated medical longevity. We fight, because she can’t keep doing it anymore.

There was a time, when homestead living, was the only life we knew. We loved spending days and weeks landscaping, decorating, taking pictures. Then, pick it all up and start all over again ! We absolutely love the setup and design part of it, but once it is done, we are ready to do something different.
These days, we live in a skydome with a much more limited prim allowance, This has not removed our love for landscaping and decor setup, it just means we do it on a much smaller scale, but we still pick it up when we are done to do something new.
One of our favorite things about decorating, is picking things from multiple sets that still all work together. There are bits and pieces in this scene from the Bee Designs – Southwestern Living Room set that I picked up a couple years ago, that I knew immediately that I wanted to mix in with this pool set.
