When we rezzed the Noveny – Modern Concrete House, Troy’s first response was ” This reminds me of one of those old school Linden Homes, only way nicer “. Have to admit, it is quite true. The old original Linden Homes attempted to offer a modern style home only they dropped the ball and they ended up being rather bland generic boxes. They have stepped up the game with these new Linden Homes tho, so they have redeemed themselves on that.
We will fully admit, that we are torn when it comes to modern homes. We love the design and layouts that tend to be quite clean lined, we wobble on the clean appearance. The standard white walls feel quite stark to us, but we know many people who prefer just that aesthetic.

Dragonlings are such an integral part of Kait & Troy’s relationship, we could not pass up the chance to showcase them. We do adore our fantasy scenes as much as our modern decor ones, and this was no exception.
While getting this scene together we realized that we had totally derped and forgotten to blog 2 holiday items from Bloom last month, and wondered how we could incorporate them into a non holiday post, and this was it ! The glowing orbs in the sky and on the floor are actually Christmas decorations that we have slightly modified from their original state to give the fantasy glowy effect that we loved.
For the Bloom – Suspended Bauble Tree we used Edit Face and turned the hanging strings invisible, then turned down the opacity of the baubles themselves and added a slight glow effect to achieve the floating orb look.
Similarly, for the Bloom Originals – Wall Tree we turned the outside metal tree faces invisible and added a glow and lower opacity for the baubles to add some glowy orbs to the floor.
Remember, that many modifiable items can be utilized in ways other than their originally intended form to achieve a totally new look. If you want to add a little sparkle to your scenes, check in your holiday folders and see what you could be using year round instead !

From the moment I put this Farmhouse Christmas Bedroom set out by LouChara, Troy was saying how this was the type of furniture he would love to have in a RL home. I can not say that I disagree, as it is what we would love to have as well. The style, while giving off a very country vibe the iron bed frame also makes it quite easy to slide effortlessly into a more modern decor scheme.

Today we are extremely thankful for our Lister-Lake family, who are currently in Arizona basking in the glow of their recent RL wedding, and the upcoming bigger ceremony wedding! We can not even begin to express how happy we are for them, and look forward to being even closer family as we all move forward together !

Today we are thankful for having a home, both RL and SL. While our RL home may not ever be something that graces Better Homes and Gardens, and our SL home is a grass textured platform in the sky, they are home to us. They are that ‘safe space’ away from the rest of the world where no one cares that we live in pajama pants.

Recently we had a conversation with one of our SL sisters about decorating for the holidays, and we had to chuckle about how we have no patience for decorating in RL, but love doing it in SL. When it comes to holiday decor we have an attention span of about 2 weeks, unfortunately commercialism thinks it needs to shove every holiday down your throat 3 months before it gets here, so by the time the holiday actually comes around, you have zero desire to put it up, only to have to take it all back down again in 2 weeks.
Thankfully in SL, decorating and redecorating is as easy as a click of the mouse, and an inventory search for keywords, or if you have a Kait, just find the appropriately named holiday folder in your #Seasonal Decor folder.
I was so excited to see the Kendrick Cabin from The Green Door for TLC. You can pick it up yourself at TLC from October 18th – November 10th. The Kendrick Cabin is a cozy wood cabin with one bedroom, a kitchen/dining area, living area and bathroom. Features the home control system for security and texture change. Only 80 LI, copy/mod.
The cabin makes the perfect rural home for this InkMe Deads and Ghosts set which you can pick up at Halloweentown. The set comes with gravestones, floating ghosts, hanging skeletons, covered bodies, a giant skull and jack-o-lanterns. While you are over at Halloweentown, be sure and check out all of the other spooky holiday items, as well as seasonal fall items too.

Today’s post, is my debut Something New blogger post ! This wonderfully adorable pose was released for the Dubai Event which is running from August 20th – September 10th. The pose includes the cute pupper, as well as the held stiletto heel prop ( also included is a holdable trainer/sneaker for those who prefer).
So, this is where my dilemma began. You see, when I saw the vendor image for this pose, the very first thing that came to my mind was “Oh how freaking hysterical would that be if I was scolding the poor pup for gettin’ chewy with my vibrator instead of that heel? “. Now, not only is this a sponsored post, but it is my very FIRST post as a blogger on the Something New team, and so I was a bit hesitant to really let my kinky flag fly on the first day, but … well … I also thought perhaps it would be best to let them really know what kind of handful I can be at times.
And so, I took both pictures ! The original, and, the Arysta Twist !
Let this be a reminder to you, to look beyond a stores vendor photo. Just because a pose was created and sold with one prop ( or no prop ) does not mean that you can only use THAT specific prop. Also, on that same note, props are not pose specific either ! Grab your creative license and see where the road leads you. Find your inspiration wherever it comes from, and let it lead you.
