How many of us have drooled over the home & decor blogger photos of a room that is decked out so spectacularly, it should be in a Showhouse Magazine ? I do it damn near on the daily !

I admit to not being too shabby when it comes to some decorating. I can make a room look great, but, I tend to lean towards the less is more approach in my personal decorating choices. While I may love the look of a fully decked out living space, my brain has a bit of a tweak-fest when it comes down to it. I do not like lag, none of us do I know. I may tolerate it at a Live Music or shopping event, I refuse to have it at home, in any way shape or form. This is why, as it has been stated before, we live in a skydome, with no house, no landscaping, 1 chair and 2 cats. Personal living choices do not stop me from loving putting together a look tho.

That Plant Life

Once again, there is an example of the polar opposite lives that we live in Second Life, than the one we live outside of it. We adore having plants mixed in with our decor, and landscaping. Outside of this wondrous place, our sister got our green thumb along with her own.

There is nothing, that we are aware of, that she has attempted to grow,and failed. Tho it is likely that she just does not mention those when she is showing off her green babies on FB!

Not only is she growing the usual veggies, but her herb garden is something akin to an Apothecary’s Wal-Mart ! She has been taking classes on medicinal herbs for the past several years, and she swears by the ways of the Shroom tinctures. We have yet to be inclined to take her up on the offer to try them, but we have smelled them, and are not keen. But, to each is own, and her gardening is what keeps her sane, so we hope she continues doing it for many years to come ! She has 3 daughters, ages 15 – 5, she is going to need all the sanity she can get for a few years.

Understanding Magic

Magic, is simply something we can not comprehend with science or logic.

Many moons ago, knowing which herbs and plants would heal you and not kill you, was considered magic. You possessed knowledge that the masses did not, and therefor, the logical explanation, was that you were practicing magic ! Even worse, you got labeled a witch and burned at the stake.

Part of why the world seems less magical, is because of our drive as a race, to prove or disprove all things with logic or science. This drive for understanding, shines a light at those dark places where magic lives. Not necessarily a bad thing, and the advances in medicine, which is a topic for a whole other post, have saved lives, through logical scientific magic.

When I saw the name of this set from InkMe I totally read it as ” A Okay ” and not Aoki, but it made me laugh and so I decided to grab it and give it a whirl. Troy fell in love with the framed photos that come with it, and so that made it an auto win as well. They will be making a permanent addition to our SL home, whenever we ever actually live in a house with walls anyway.

It feels so ironic, that as much as we love to decorate, we don’t enjoy living with walls and decor all the time. Being able to change it up, set it up so beautifully, but then the moment is captured, and we can not wait to do something else all over again.

Maybe it has something to do with our inability of changing our home decor in RL so much, that we can’t get enough of it in SL. Whatever the cause, we love the effect.

Today’s post, is my debut Something New blogger post ! This wonderfully adorable pose was released for the Dubai Event which is running from August 20th – September 10th. The pose includes the cute pupper, as well as the held stiletto heel prop ( also included is a holdable trainer/sneaker for those who prefer).

So, this is where my dilemma began. You see, when I saw the vendor image for this pose, the very first thing that came to my mind was “Oh how freaking hysterical would that be if I was scolding the poor pup for gettin’ chewy with my vibrator instead of that heel? “. Now, not only is this a sponsored post, but it is my very FIRST post as a blogger on the Something New team, and so I was a bit hesitant to really let my kinky flag fly on the first day, but … well … I also thought perhaps it would be best to let them really know what kind of handful I can be at times.

And so, I took both pictures ! The original, and, the Arysta Twist !

Let this be a reminder to you, to look beyond a stores vendor photo. Just because a pose was created and sold with one prop ( or no prop ) does not mean that you can only use THAT specific prop. Also, on that same note, props are not pose specific either ! Grab your creative license and see where the road leads you. Find your inspiration wherever it comes from, and let it lead you.

Sometimes it is the little things, that go a long way. That saying applies to say many things in our daily lives, and it is often said so often that we stop giving it any real thought, and the little things get taken for granted, more and more. The little things, are different for everyone. What may be a little thing for one person, may be a huge thing to someone else, and vice versa.

It is that ‘I love you’ text just before you go to sleep, so that your partner on the other side of the ocean knows that the last thought you had before you went to sleep, was of them. It is waking up to an ‘I love you’ text the next morning so that you know, you were the first thing they thought about when they woke up.

It’s remembering what they were wearing the first time you noticed them, at a live music venue, over 4 years ago. Things that make no difference to anything, other than that it makes you smile.

Doin That Thing We Do

There was a time, when homestead living, was the only life we knew. We loved spending days and weeks landscaping, decorating, taking pictures. Then, pick it all up and start all over again ! We absolutely love the setup and design part of it, but once it is done, we are ready to do something different.

These days, we live in a skydome with a much more limited prim allowance, This has not removed our love for landscaping and decor setup, it just means we do it on a much smaller scale, but we still pick it up when we are done to do something new.

One of our favorite things about decorating, is picking things from multiple sets that still all work together. There are bits and pieces in this scene from the Bee Designs – Southwestern Living Room set that I picked up a couple years ago, that I knew immediately that I wanted to mix in with this pool set.

When it works, it works !
