Glitter is the herpes of the craft world. Everyone should be aware of this fact by now and use it accordingly, but cmon who doesn’t love glitter ? If you happen to be unlucky enough to have carpet in your craft room, small bits of paper, fabric or thread also become guests that never leave.
We are quilters, and so thread and fabric trimmings are a permanent resident in our carpet. We would love to live in a house where we could have a non carpeted floor in a craft room, but alas, we do not. We have just purchased our first cutting machine as well, and are anxiously awaiting delivery. This will add paper and vinyl weeding bits to the carpet menagerie !

Thanksgiving is nearly upon us, and in some homes that means more than just the traditional items we all love. Every family has it’s members, usually the younger ones, who refuse to eat what everyone else is eating. They may eat anything and everything all year round, but soon as there is a family gathering, they only like dinner rolls, peanut butter and jelly and chicken nuggets. These were the alternative meal items available at our grandmothers house if you did not want what everyone else was having. You were also welcome to a cheese sandwich, but it was not going to be grilled.

Today’s public service announcement is to always give plenty of notice of your intentions to visit other people who do not have children still living at home. This includes the older generations, including your parents and grandparents.
How many times have you heard the joke about ” Oh I can’t wait till our kids all leave home, then our empty nest can finally have that workshop / craft room we always wanted!” We have all heard it, but how many of us have actually seen the inside of those workshop / craft rooms, or evidence of the activities they claim to love having the privacy to work on in them ? EXACTLY !
So visit without notice at your own risk, and be ready to explain to your children why Aunt Agnes prefers to hang her clothes to dry on the cage beside the fireplace and why you should never ever lick a wooden spoon that is not yours !

The title of today’s post is a bit of a play on words because of shooting something at a better angle. I think this version should make some much happier than the previous !

When it comes to Chili, there are as many options and opinions as there are people who eat it. Once you get past the actual making of it, of which the opinions on what makes the best chili worse than a political debate in some company, another set of lines are drawn. We enjoy ours in a variety of ways, depending on which of us is eating it, and what mood they may be in at the time.
With rice, elbow pasta, saltines, oyster crackers, cheez-its, grilled cheese. No matter which of those gets added, there is always sour cream and shredded cheese involved.
What Next released this fantastic slow cooker with chili to warm every heart and home, and theirs comes with tortilla chips. For us, corn chips are not an option as we have developed an allergy to corn over the past several years, which sadly means no tortilla chips, fritos or doritos, as well as having to keep an eye out for the 5 million things in the US that include corn syrup !

This new release from Crowded Houses offers so many options to play with just from the hidden bunker entrance you can see from the picture. The bunker itself is modifiable which makes blending the mesh covering super easy to match with your sim terrain It also works really well as a skybox and fit easily on our 64 x 64 parcel. Our parcel covenant does not allow terraforming above a certain level, which many of you may fun into as an issue. It is easy to use the bunker at ground level if you keep the living levels under water level, which actually would make this an awesome home for those who love the land as well as the water. I chose to take it up to the sky instead, and used prims to extend the ground level in front of the entrance slightly to fill my parcel size. The area above the bunker is large enough for an entire other house if you like, or a gazebo for outdoor entertaining.
I could not give you a teaser of the outside without showing you just what goodies you can fit inside!
As you can see, the interior living area of the bunker is quite modern but that does not mean you can not make it feel as homey as you would if it had windows. The main living area is quite spacious and offers access to two larger rooms on either side of the center botanical garden space. There are also 3 smaller rooms as well as a fully built in modern sleek kitchen. On your way down from the bunkers entrance you will also pass by an armory, a command center as well as a large vault which is fully stocked with gold bars!
