One of our most favorite events of the year is upon us ! I Pink I Can benefits The American Cancer Society’s Strides campaign and is working in partnership with Linden Labs. One of the super fun events going on this year is the spooky maze sponsored by HiVid. As you journey through the maze you will find 5 family fun Halloween movies but we are not about to ruin the surprise of which ones they might be so go get lost and found ! If you are in need of a HiVid television they also have one available to purchase at the main shopping area with the proceeds going directly to Strides event. This is the perfect chance to give back and get entertained at the same time.

In our usual public service announcement fashion, we also wanted to mention that according to a paper published by the National Bureau of Economic Research, while a television in your bedroom may not kill your sex life, it is associated with a decrease in the amount of sex you are having.
The paper, published in 2018, examines the association between television ownership and sexual frequency using data from nearly 4 million individuals in national household surveys in 80 countries from 5 continents.

We joke that having been in SL for almost 15 years, there is little we have not tried at least once. One of the things on the ‘Never Have I Ever’ list is farming. We have done a wide variety of breedables, but never a farming system. So when The Funny Farm offered to send us a beta starter set to blog as part of I Pink I Can, we were hesitant at first since it is not something we are familiar with, but decided to give it a go as a new experience.
First impressions upon unpacking was that it looked fairly simple, at least until I tried to birth my calf. There was a minor labor and delivery complication which required a new set of bovines due to a scripting upgrade to the cows. Once that was sorted, proud parents Fred and Serena welcomed a happy healthy baby Noah to our parcel ! We happened to have been watching the latest Handmaids Tale the day of his birth so it seemed only appropriate that they be named as such. So, once he was born, we had to milk Serena and got a partial bottle of milk to feed Noah, easy peasy !
Now there is hay to grow, but, in order to grow the hay you have to fertilize the soil which in case you are unaware of what fertilizer is made of, it requires poo ! Once a day the Bull will provide a Funny Plop of poo to put into your compost bin, then the next day the poo becomes fertilizer. Gross and yet realistic at the same time, minus the smell, thank god !
So once you plant your seeds, you water and tend your little garden patch. All of the actions involve animations which are well made and adorable. They are made in 3 sizes to suit large Adults, Adults and Children size Avi’s. There is a water trough and hay feeder to keep your adult cows fed and hydrated, plus a cistern for water storage.
There is also a badge system, which we have not played with, but from the developers notes I can tell you
” They are a fun thing to do for our Funny Farmers while they wait for new {TFF} items to come out. Badges are not required but our Funny Farmers are earning some exclusive {TFF} items such as collectibles, decorated harvestables etc while completing their badges.
Badges include all kinds of activities like wearing costumes, building items, photography, holiday and celebration days, recipe suggestions, and as more items become available they will expand to crafting and cooking. Our Funny Farmers are invited to join a Realm if they want to earn badges. Each Realm is lead by a couple of our farmers who have completed badges themselves. Each Realm has a different feel but all offer help with badges, farming and give a sense of community.
Once badges are earned by a Funny Farmer they are displayed in shadow boxes of various designs, a nice addition to any farmer’s barn wall! “

There is nothing worse than having to stand around in the graveyard waiting for your summoned zombie to rise from the grave. They can be worse than waiting on a woman to get dressed.
It is a good thing I had something fabulous to wear while waiting. ViO has made this adorable Witches Outfit for I Pink I Can and it comes with the dress, boots, hat and a broom !
Also from I Pink I Can is this Scary Tombstone from SE7EN. There are spooky spiders running around and the Skelly fades in and out. There is optional spooky sounds as well.

Oh the number of times we have said the words “Make Me”. As a taunt, as a tease, as a brat, with confidence. Nearly as versatile as the word Fuck, it can be used in so many ways, and its meaning and intent changing with a simple tone of voice.
When it comes to helping kick Cancer’s ass, it is never a matter of make me, but count me in ! Today is the official opening of I Pink I Can ( IPIC ) and the talented and giving Alessia Setner at Second Nature Jewellery has the special edition Bella Necklace for sale with all proceeds going to the cause. Along with the many talented designers offering goods for sale, and even more offering items for auction, there will be live music, dance shows, DJ sets, musical productions and so many other exciting things to see and do. This does not even include the spookatcular Pirates Gold haunt and experience that everyone must go to at least once, or twice!
When we came black to blogging just a few months ago, we made the decision to choose one base look. The look that we wore in our daily SL lives, would be the look that we blogged as. Today, we made an exception to bring you some very talented creators items. the Unik event has such a wide range of products and designers that there really is something for everyone.
While we endeavor not to make changes to items that we blog, we did for one item today. The UpBeatz – Avery Shape was created for use with LeLutka Avalon head, and not the Ora that we wear. The only modification made was to round out the jaw shape to suit the difference in heads, no other modifications were made.

I Pink I Can (IPIC for short) is a Strides event for The American Cancer Society. All proceeds go to help fund breast cancer research. While the event officially begins on October 15th, today will be a soft opening for 1 week before all the live music events for those who would like to come explore and shop without all the added traffic from the live event audience. IPIC is connected directly to The American Cancer Society sim and is family friendly and fun for all ages. With over 30 vendors, including our very own Glorious Insanity, as well as the wonderfully creative Something New, more raffles than I can think of from amazing stores and places around the grid PLUS this year we are working with Ry Heslop and his partner B to bring an interactive Halloween experience!

For the past several years, we have been a part of the RFL team Camping For A Cure. It is one of the things we are the most proud of doing in second life. With two large events each year, Freedom Rock in the spring, and I Pink I Can in the fall. This year the fall event will happen October 15th – October 30th.
“Why do you fight? ”
This is a question that is asked numerous times throughout the season. Our reason was made even more powerful recently when our step mother made the choice, to stop fighting. She was told that her breast cancer was back, for the 4th time, and had spread. We fight so that no more mothers, or in our case, no more step mothers, or sisters or cousins or aunts, have to make the choice, to stop fighting, so they can find a way to enjoy the life they have left, on their terms. She made the choice for quality of live, over a complicated medical longevity. We fight, because she can’t keep doing it anymore.
