We have never had a desire to live in the south west, in the desert, where it is hot. Ever. The heat is not our friend. What we have done, is enjoy south west decor and the aesthetic it brings. I think it reminds us of the movie Boys On The Side with Drew Barrymore, Woopie Goldburg and Mary Louise Parker.

We know the lyrics may say Rocky Mountain Hiiiighhhhhhh Colorado, but todays scene needed an adjustment. The new little mancave from DRD at ALPHA Event, certainly covers the Smoky part with its stash of bud, lighter and a nice little bong as well as many other goodies. The Reece set from LouChara shares the High duties, with its airplane theme, and the Old Bill jeep from 777 gets us up that Mountain with ease. So goodbye Colorado and hello Tennessee and North Carolina.

A new round of Enchantment is upon us, and this time we are headed into Dark Academia. Even if you may not be familiar with the term, you likely are quite familiar with the aesthetic.

If you close your eyes and picture what an Ivy League or New England college would look like in the 30’s & 40’s. Lots of cardigans, blazers, dress shirts, plaid skirts, Oxford shoes, and clothing made of houndstooth and tweed.

Gothic inspired architecture, most likely the library, with secret societies and a dark undertow. Recent popular culture brings to mind Harry Potter, Wednesday, A Series of Unfortunate Events. Going back to our own teen years, we could cite Dead Poets Society. For some literature to get you into the mood, try some Lord Byron, Percy Shelley, or of course The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.

The name of this new modular building set from InsurreKtion for Cosmopolitan, had me looking to Google. As it turns out, Andalucia produces over half the worlds olive oil, about 1.5 million tons a year. This is enough to fill over 450 Olympic size swimming pools. That is alot of olive oil ! Fun fact that now we all know.

Oh it feels like we could use a nice island vacation today.
