We have all seen the Facebook meme’s about “You get to stay in this cabin for a week all expenses paid, but you have no Wi-Fi, would you do it ? ” I have to say that if the cabin looked like this one, I most certainly would accept, as long as I got to bring Troy with me for that front porch swinging and fireplace snuggling. Things Are Getting Steamy

Things are certainly getting steamy at The Engine Room this month, from September 20th – October 20th. Steampunky that is.

Cerridwens Cauldron did not disappoint, as if they ever could, with the Fabulous Planet Globe, available in brass or cast iron. The menu includes globe options for Mercury, Venus, Earth, Luna, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, as well as overlay options, animations on/off and light colors.

This super adorable A Wizard’s Mummy couples pose is from the Halloween collection at Something New. The pose comes with a silver goblet prop, but I chose to use the Old Treasures – Cain’s Chalice which is a free gift available at The Engine Room.

Monday, September 19th is International Talk Like A Pirate Day. Created in 1995 by John Baur and Mark Summers, of Albany, Oregon. The duo proclaimed September 19 each year as the day when everyone in the world should talk like a pirate. It is the only known holiday to come into being as a result of a sports injury. At first an inside joke between two friends, the holiday gained exposure when Baur and Summers sent a letter about their invented holiday to the American syndicated humor columnist Dave Barry in 2002, who liked the idea and promoted the day.

In honor of this auspicious holiday, I decided it was the perfect time to show off the Pirate’s Bedroom from InkMe, which is available at the mainstore.

Autumn Crystals

The countdown is on. For some it is for fall colors and cooler weather, for others it is for Halloween and all things spooktacular. For us, the countdown is for September 30th and the release of Hocus Pocus 2 !

Before we can get to that release, yesterday marked the release of these super fun Crystal Jacks from Cerridwens Cauldron at ACCESS. This round will run from September 12th – October 8th. They are available in 3 designs, Grinning Cat, Skellington and Tribal. There is also a fatpack option which includes exclusive items.

There is a texture and color menu which allows you to choose exterior, interior and edge colors. You can choose Red, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple, Black and fatpack bonuses Iron, Silver and Lava variations. The menu will also allow you to choose the light color and turn the glow options on or off for interior,exterior and edges.

The Power Of Pink

We have all heard the ever popular phrase ‘Sex Sells’, and for better or worse, it is a quite accurate statement. Over the years, I have found that ‘Pink Sells’ is also just as accurate. By my totally unprofessional and non-scientific calculations, ‘Pink Sex Sells Best’ is probably the ultimate in marketing practices !

While today’s post has nothing to do with sex, it does have to do with pink ! I myself, am not the type of girl that gravitates towards pink, in our system, that would be Kait or Bekkah, but it does not dissuade me from being able to enjoy the color from the perspective of someone that does like it.

For me, the Luanne Bedroom Set from Bee Designs, is not one that I would choose for my personal bedroom, but it is one that Bekkah thinks is absolutely wonderful ! Tho she feels the lack of fairies is disheartening, but she has more than enough of those to add her own !

While I have not added fairies, I did add some neon angel wings and daisy flower wall decor from the Isabella Bedroom Set, also from Bee Designs, to help fill out the decor.

Belle Of The Fall Ball

As soon as I picked up the Grace Set from Second Nature Jewellery, I knew I was going to rock it like the Belle of the Ball. It has all the glamor of a red carpet event, but still holds the simplicity to wear for a nice dinner date. The set is available in Gold or Silver, and each set comes with a HUD for Gem change. It comes preset with 8 Gem colors, and also includes a color wheel to allow you to choose the exact shade and color to suit your occasion.

I chose to add the Athena Rose Ring, also by Second Nature Jewellery, to the mix for that little hint of added Beauty and the Beast Belle. The ring also comes with a HUD allowing you to choose between Gold or Silver for metal, and 16 gem color options.

What’s your favorite color?

This should be a fairly simple question to answer, but it is anything but. Any question that starts with ‘What’s your favorite …” is never an easy answer, especially for a DiD system. Just like asking any group of multiple individuals, you are going to get multiple answers. That is even without taking into account that most people have multiple favorite colors. One for clothing, one for decor, one for accents. So many choices, how are we supposed to choose one ?

Within our system, for many years colors played a significant role in our identities. It was our own personal way of identifying who was driving the bus, even if no one else was aware of the color code. It was also generally a good clue of determining who bought the new clothes in the closet. Purple or black was almost always Prin, if it was pink, it was Kait or Bekka, Beth leaned red or blue depending on shade and purpose. For many years, Oree loved orange but banished anything green, till Sam and Angie made green acceptable again.

Holding On To Summer
