Yesterday’s post gave us some serious tropical vacation vibes, but today’s scene screams safari getaway, or perhaps just a themed room in a kinky hotel. Either way, it looks like a good time !

Have you ever been to one of those all inclusive resort vacation places ? We never have but this scene made us think of all the advertisements we have seen for those type of tropical destinations. They are never something we felt an urge to experience, they seem to be marketed towards young fit people who go on vacation to get drunk and have sex with as many strangers as possible. While there was a time in our lives that our poor choices would have made that the perfect idea of a vacation, we have always been way too body conscious for it to be a realistic choice.

As we mentioned a few weeks back, we have not been writing along with our posts because of all the things we have been dealing with in RL, finding words to go with them was mentally draining. We were trying to work through and cope with our grandmother suffering a second stroke, which put her into a very rapid downward spiral. This is the woman that raised us, and was our best friend.
It has been a week today since we promised her we were going to be okay, and that it was safe for her to let go because no one was going to let her fall. She went very shortly after we spoke those words, holding the hand of our Pop, her husband of 46 years. When I say that this past week has been the longest month and the shortest day we have ever known, there really is no way to express it any other way. In some ways this first week without her, has felt like a never ending road of ” Doing the things, not thinking about the things”. Detachment and distraction were our go to tools, we are quite good at using them. It also feels strange to sit here and think that it has been a full week, and wondering how it has been that long already. Most of that comes from the detachment, losing track of time but not losing time.
We survived this week, and we will survive the next one, and the ones after that. We know there are going to be times that really really suck, and we know there are going to be more and more times when we don’t measure how long we have been without her, We will find a new normal, and let more light in than dark.

Due to a recent rapid decline in a family member’s health, our own personal stress levels have increased. In order to try and maintain our own mental and cardiac health, we sadly had to made the decision to reduce our number of sponsors. This is the first decrease of sponsors we have made since we returned to blogging last August and is a decision we have been putting off longer than we should have, but we love blogging and it is one of our major relaxation activities.
You may notice that our posts are less talky for a while, as it is not always easy to find words every day. Due to the nature of the decline in our family member’s health this is not something they will recover from, we are at the stage of keep them comfortable and try and maintain the level we are at now.

Father’s Day is celebrated annually on the third Sunday in June in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, India, and a number of other countries around the world.
While on Mother’s Day mom gets pampered and gets to have a ‘day off’, in our family when we were growing up Father’s Day was a cookout day, in which the Dad’s were in charge of doing the cooking, since the grill was involved.
Today’s post is dedicated to our one and only Troy, who not only is the most amazing Husband, but the most spectacular Da to 7 two legged children and 3 furbabies, not counting his 4 RL furbabies as well.
