If you ever wanted to sneak away for a cozy weekend in a cabin in the woods, the Weshler Cabin from The Green Door is the one you want. Since the snow add-on is included but optional, the cabin keeps its cozy feel all year long. The floorplan includes a great room, kitchen/dining and an upstairs bedroom. Either side can be used as an entrance and both have cozy porches. Footprint is 18.3 x18.7, 118 LI. Snow Add-On included. Now available at the main store.

Nothing in our life proves this quote more true than our Mother ! Our mother is 64 years old, and more often than not, we are constantly asked if we are sisters and not mother and daughter. Blessing and a curse, because it means she looks younger than she is or we look older, not sure which is worse !

Playhouse Furniture Included in pack or available separately

In the past 4 years, our mother has broken into her best friends barn, and decorated her cows in santa hats, reindeer antlers and LED Christmas lights. She committed that act of breaking and decorating while on her way to the mall, where she was dressed in a full Grinch costume, and went to stand in line to sit on Santa’s lap and ask him what the deal was with all this good cheer. Much to the delight of all the children, and parents, present. That, is our mum. I hope we inherited her never ending child spirit along with the love for adult humor and snarky comments.

Christmas Candy

I just love it when a plan falls apart, and then comes back together in an even better way than the original one ! That is precisely what happened with this post today. I had picked up the super cute Gingerbread House from The Green Door, which is available at The Fifty and was so excited to see the new cuteness from Simply Shelby, that I actually clicked the wrong item from Blogotex and got the Candy Cane Gateway to go along with the Candy Cane Signs and Christmas Gumdrop Madness instead of a different bit of cuteness that I will show you in a later post. As you can see, it all worked out spectacularly, and even more so than my original brainstorm.

It was a no brainer to see that the Winter Buddies from Bee Designs are right at home in such a sugary sweet wonderland !

Cozy Cocoa Comforts

Old Fashioned Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1/3 cup white granulated sugar
4 cups whole milk
1 pinch salt
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

In a 2-quart saucepan, place the chocolate, sugar, milk, and salt. Over medium-low heat, stir gently with whisk until the chocolate melts and the mixture is well blended.

Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with a spoonful of marshmallow creme or whipped cream, if desired.

  • If you only have semi-sweet or sweetened chocolate available, you may not need to add any sugar. Melt the chocolate and milk mixture first, taste it, then decide if it needs a tablespoon or two of sugar.

Days of Thanksgiving #17.

Today we are thankful for ‘extra’ family members, the ones that generally come with a prefix on their title. Step parents, half siblings, foster kids, all of the family members who were not bound together by blood, but by choice. We ourselves are blessed by a large number of extra family members, who our lives would not be what they are now without.

Recently, Troy’s SL son Harrison has returned to SL more regularly, and we decided that living on an empty platform did not invoke the feeling of family bonding that we are hoping to build. This new change means we need a house, and what better place to start auditioning than with The Green Door.

The first house on the audition block, is the Bently House. With 2 stories, 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a 30×25 meter footprint and just 133 LI.

Simply Shelby has the ideal front stoop decor with the Seasonal Home Set, which includes autumn and winter versions.

Anti-Glamping

Growing up, family camping was a regularly scheduled part of every summer vacation. Sleeping bags and tents, campfires and s’mores. We loved it, before we knew there were better options. As adults, we far prefer getting out nature on by GLAMping, not camping. Cabins with beds, air conditioning and indoor plumbing is where it is at for us these days.

If you prefer to be closer to nature, you can do that with the new Wildlife Camping Tent from CHEZ MOI for Cosmopolitan from October 31st – November 12th.
