Religion is one of those topics, that we tend to avoid talking about, but once we do, we ramble quite a bit. We fully support each and every single person on this planet’s right to choose their own belief system, and to practice that religion, provided that it does not involve doing harm to others. As the quote above says, you are perfectly welcome to be proud of your penis, but that does not give you the right to wag it in someone else’s face.

Personally, we are not fans of organized religion, as a whole. We consider ourselves spiritual but not religious. We believe that there is a higher power, and refer to it in general, as God, and male, because it is just easier. We believe that there was a man back in the day, named Jesus, who was that age’s version of a Mother Theresa, but not so much that he was the son of God in the way that the bible likes to tell it. We also generally believe that “God” is universal, and no matter what the religion, it all comes back to the same being, who just happens to get called different things based on cultural and geographic traditions.

We believe that God gave us all free will, and that he does not take that away when we die.

Want to hang out in heaven for a while and just chill? Sure !

Want to go back to earth and wander around? Great, ghost it is !

Want to go back to earth and live another life with different challenges to better understand something you haven’t quite figured out yet? BOOM, Reincarnation it is !

Anyone who has known us for any length of time, knows that we used to shoot quite a lot of adult content. We were all about the public displays of sex for a number of years, and then Troy happened.

That really sounds bad when I type it that way, but it was truly the very best thing to ever happen, to any of us. We still enjoy a very healthy and happy sex life, we just no longer feel the need to share it with the rest of you. Sorry, not sorry ! That being said, now that our lives have become what they are, you may just see more of Troy than you ever saw on display before. *Rawr*

We used to use our sexuality, as a way to bolster our confidence, and sadly, our self worth as well. Survivors of childhood trauma often times end up one one extreme or the other on the sexual spectrum. There are generally speaking two choices, slut or prude, and it is difficult to find a healthy middle ground.

We are extremely grateful, and thankful, that we have found the safe haven that we have found in our relationship with Troy. We have come a long way and are looking forward to seeing what comes in the future to come.

Something New has released this cute background and 4 single poses for the PosEvent, which is running from August 27th – September 19th. When I saw the background, I had a desire to shoot something with Troy, and so I popped over to the mainstore to find acouples pose. Something New offers so many options from cute to romantic to sexy, but instead of gravitating to the smexy steamy or smushy kissy poses, my eyes went directly to this pose instead. I laughed so much as I purchased it, because it really is US. We are derps, and we own that every day, loudly and proudly. I just knew that this pose was meant to go with this background, tho I did have to make one small adjustment. Sorry Allyson, but we are so not mustard girls, so I had to use the tint feature and change that to ketchup !

We have written before about the correlation between items or objects and people or memories. Sunflowers for us, are a Troy association, by proxy. Troy has a special link to sunflowers, and by sharing that emotional connection with us, they have become special to us, because they are special to him.

That is how love is supposed to work isn’t it ? You share yourself with another person so deeply, and you take in that other person so completely, that you share the joy of the other, even if it is not directed at or from you personally. You smile at sunflowers, because sunflowers make your partner smile.

Today’s post, is my debut Something New blogger post ! This wonderfully adorable pose was released for the Dubai Event which is running from August 20th – September 10th. The pose includes the cute pupper, as well as the held stiletto heel prop ( also included is a holdable trainer/sneaker for those who prefer).

So, this is where my dilemma began. You see, when I saw the vendor image for this pose, the very first thing that came to my mind was “Oh how freaking hysterical would that be if I was scolding the poor pup for gettin’ chewy with my vibrator instead of that heel? “. Now, not only is this a sponsored post, but it is my very FIRST post as a blogger on the Something New team, and so I was a bit hesitant to really let my kinky flag fly on the first day, but … well … I also thought perhaps it would be best to let them really know what kind of handful I can be at times.

And so, I took both pictures ! The original, and, the Arysta Twist !

Let this be a reminder to you, to look beyond a stores vendor photo. Just because a pose was created and sold with one prop ( or no prop ) does not mean that you can only use THAT specific prop. Also, on that same note, props are not pose specific either ! Grab your creative license and see where the road leads you. Find your inspiration wherever it comes from, and let it lead you.

Sometimes a photo just happens spontaneously. I was not even planning on doing a blog photo, just just playing around with lighting and settings and shadows in Black Dragon the other night, and I was camming different angles and BAM. I was so taken with the angle and lighting that I snapped it and fell in love with it all at once.

We always seem to link people with a symbol. Sometimes it is an animal, or a certain flower, or super hero, whatever it happens to be for that person. Once you have associated that item with a person, it is that person you think of every time you see one. For us, dragonflies will always be associated with our Grandmother. She who raised us.

She has collected other things over the years, but for us, if we think of her, it is dragonflies that come to mind first. When I saw this stunningly delicate necklace and earring set from Second Nature Jewellery, I thought of her and smiled.

Today is August the 12th, and officially marks the end of the ‘Dog days of Summer’, which run from July 3rd to August 11th of each year. The phrase itself is a reference to Sirius, the Dog Star. Sirius is the brightest star visible from any part of Earth and a part of the constellation Canis Major.

July 23rd, Sirius rises and sets with the Sun. In Ancient Greece and Rome, they believed Sirius actually gave off heat and added to our Sun’s warmth, accounting for the long stretch of sultry weather. This stretch of time was referred to as diēs caniculārēs, or “dog days.” Thus, the term Dog Days of Summer came to mean the 20 days before and 20 days after this alignment of Sirius with the Sun—July 3 to August 11 each year.

Now that you have had your daily educational moment, I will direct your attention to the gorgeous necklace and earrings that are adorning my sunkissed pixels. We all know the saying ‘you can’t teach an old dog new tricks’ , but we are more kitty dragon unicorn than dog, so we love learning new things. Since we now have a system that can handle shadows, we have decided it was time to slay the Black Dragon and all of it’s bells, whistles and graphic sliders.

The lovely Pickle over at Kaleidoscope directed us to Swain’s BD Settings. You can find those and a plethora of tips, tricks and other helpful info from the Facebook group Photography Help Tips & Tricks SL Edition.

Even with the graphic presets there have still been headaches and frustration tears involved. A large part of it, is that we are so used to doing things ‘the old way’, that we are fighting our own natural instincts to adapt to new surroundings. We will get there. Today’s clique is the first taken with Black Dragon, and a little bit of post editing in Photoshop.

Of all the senses, scent is most closely linked to memory. Studies have shown that people can remember a scent with 65% accuracy after one year while visual memory drops to 50% after only a few months. The smells we experience play a crucial role in how we associate with memories and places.

Even at nearing 50 years old, the scent of some Hubba Bubba bubblegum can send us directly back like a time travel machine. If you were going to have a contest to see who could blow the biggest bubble, you better be chewing some Hubba Bubba ! Juicy Fruit, was for driving your grandmother crazy while you snapped it, but blowing required the good stuff !

Not only does the scent conjurer images of childhood, but it quite easily has an associated color. No other color could ever represent Hubba Bubba, like pink. From the wrapper to the gum itself. bubble gum should be pink !

When you have DiD, Dissociative Identity Disorder, good memories become something that you horde more fiercely than a dragon might sit upon its’ treasure. These are precious gems in a world with dark corners and deep pits. Bubblegum, is certainly one of the precious pink gemstones of a memory, except the one’s that involve gum in our hair, those are an entirely different matter !

When it comes to memories, we all have our ‘stuff’ that we attach our memories to. Those things we have in a drawer, or in a box in the closet, that even tho they are kept tucked away, we know that we can open the drawer, or the box, and pull those memories back out to revisit them.

Sadly, a dear friend of ours, Sin Anatine, has lost all of her ‘stuff’ to the massive flooding that hit Kentucky last week. She was beyond blessed that she did not lose her life, nor the lives of her Momma or her Monkey niece. The things that are truly irreplaceable, survived.

While no one can ever bring back the items that those lifetimes of memories were attached to, we can help them to get ‘stuff’ to create new memories with. One way to do that, is to go on over to Camp Anatine, where you will find special items from multiple creators where 100% of the proceeds go to the Benefit For Sin fund, including the jewelry set show above from Second Nature Jewellery as well as Raffles and on Monday August 8th there will be another day full of live music as well.
